Just a bit behind

Has it really been that long since I have posted?
Here are a few scrapbook pages I have done that will cover the last couple of months here at  this circus.

Luke and Tanner finished up the Football Season

We celebrated Halloween a bit more joyously this year. (It's not my favorite holiday, but this one wasn't so bad)
Lainee just keeps growing no matter how much I squish her.

The Wright Granddaughters went for a photo shoot.

And because I am going on past performance, I may as well wish everyone a Happy New Year because who knows how long it will be before I post again!
Only because the day's are whizzing past me

While Mom is away . . .

We're not sure what dad is doing, but Lainee was busy painting her fingernails. . .  and her legs and arms and face and tummy and the carpet.

I was at a scout meeting and I had taken Alaina with me. Kory was so nice and texted me when he got home and asked if I wanted him to come and get the baby from me.  I was so thankful and thought, "what a good husband I have"!
I received a text right at the end of my meeting that said, "You need to come home!"
I walked into a house that smelled of fingernail polish and a baby that looked like she had lost a paintball war.
Kory had given her some fingernail polish bottles to entertain her while he was doing a few things in the garage. She got a little excited and banged them together and the redish/orange one "exploded" (in Tanners words.)  Tanner even got a little bit of the fingernail polish "shrapnel" on him.
Kory met me in the garage when I got home and said, "you are never going to let me keep the baby again". I think that was wishful thinking.
A little fingernail polish isn't going to get me too excited and fire him from that position, perhaps a little cut in pay.

Fall Break

The Sunday before Fall Break I made the kids a deal that if they could get along with each other for the week, Friday I would take them for a surprise "adventure".  It is hard to say but a bribe was necessary at this point in our happiness at home quest.  So they did pretty good about remembering the deal all week and keeping themselves in check.  Needless to say, I think I may have had as much fun as they did at
Antigravity.
All the other "sophisticated" moms came with their kids, all dressed up and looking cute and sat on the couches and read their books, while I bounced around on the trampolines in my shorts and t-shirt and got completely sweaty and made a fool of myself many a time.
Was it worth it? Heck yes, I had so much fun with them!

Khloee showing her Stuff

Lainee was super good the whole time we were there too.

Lainee Shake

I put together this short little video of Lainee doing her best back stroke kick.  It is so dang cute, everytime I lay her down she get her legs just a going. But I couldn't get it to load so all I can get is this little clip that I used as part of the video.
She is so dang cute! You would think with moves like that she would want to move somewhere, but you would be wrong about that.  She is perfectly content to lay and kick her legs or sit and twirl her feet around.  What a funny babe!

A Late September Swim

A few weeks ago I finally got the park pass I requested from the library back in the spring. I tried my hardest to make the most of the week that we had it and see as many parks as we could.  We, in true Wright fashion, made it to only 1.  And it is the State park that is only a measly 10-15 min. from us.
Sand Hollow.  Loser-ish, I know.  But the kids still had a blast and I am so glad that we got to go . . . for free at that!
Lain, enjoying the unrestricted play in the mud.  Who am I kidding, I let her play in the mud at home too.

We quickly lost our summer tans and moved easily into our September "GLOW"
We were lucky to have some friends, the Dutton family and Kandice, Emmie and Carter join us at the lake.
The sand was great for digging, the water perfect for swimming and the company perfect for chatting. The only bummer was that the sun set too soon.

New post

Some day soon I am going to post something new since the Turkey Hunter . . . That day is not today.

Turkey Hunter

Tanner had the chance to take Hunter Safety in February, which made him eligible to hunt small game. He was so excited to go on his first Turkey Hunt in April. The hunt was a couple of weeks long and so I thought he and his Dad would hit the hills a couple of weekends before he got a shot at one. I was wrong.

Kory, Tanner, and RJ left here Saturday Morning at around 5-5:30 and they were back home by about 10 with a turkey in hand. Unfortunately it was super cold that day and so he didn't get the full experience of getting out of the truck and getting to call the Turkey in. They were just driving along and saw the Turkey on the road.

When he shot it, it flew off the road and tumbled down a big long hill. So he did get the chance to hike a bit as his dad sent him down the ravine all by himself to retrieve the bird.

RJ was just as excited as Tanner was and his retelling of the story to Luke and I when they got home, had Luke and I rolling on the floor with laughter. He had all the squawks and flapping of wings and gobble, gobbles in all the right places. (according to his memory).

The only bad thing that came out of this is that we have officer "know it all" at our house now. When it comes to hunting or guns or gun safety, Tanner is the master of all. Who knew a Turkey could do this for your ego!

Baseball changes

After a few games of T-ball, RJ decided that unless a machine pitches to you, it isn't considered "real baseball". So, thank goodness the machine coach likes me and I convinced him to let RJ move to his team.

But that left me coaching a T-ball team that my child wasn't even on. And since we had the shirt and the hat already, we threw it on Khloee and let her have her first experience at baseball. She was so fun to coach and so easy.

What a great baseball season we had.

And just when we thought it was over and I was jumping for joy, Tanner got picked to be part of the All Star team. He was so excited and is loving the extra long season. He doesn't have games until July so we will see if he changes his mind about his love for the games as it is just going to get HOTTER!

Take me out to the ball game

Baseball season is officially underway! Yahoo.

Yesterday this big guy

This middle sized guy

and this little guy all had games.

This big guy is playing in the minor leagues. He played first base for 2 innings and pitched a couple of innings. And did a bang up job I must say. He hit and got on base every time up to bat. Impressed I was.

This Middle sized guy is playing machine pitch. He is lucky because his dad is his coach. I missed his game due to the fact that I am coaching the little guys T-ball team but this is the word I received from him and his coach. He started the game out a bit shaky by striking out his first up to bat but ended the game strong with a smashing triple.

This little guy is playing T-ball (as before mentioned). He likes T-ball but doesn't consider it real baseball because his mom is the pitcher. But he endures it. He started the game in the outfield at second base. He soon digressed to throwing his glove on the ground in a fit of rage, plopped himself behind second base and put his head between his knees and cried. (His team mates do not know how to stay out of this all stars way and it can be very frustrating). What did his coach do when her sweet little T-ball er showed his frustration in this way? She did what all T-ball coaches would have done, she ignored him and walked over to first base to help the non crying player. He perked up when it was our teams turn to bat and came to the plate like Babe Ruth. He has a good batters stance and a great swing coupled with a very determined face, he had the other kids worried about how hard he was going to hit. Lucky for them he still hits like a 6 year old.

The little girls got to be cheerleaders and a suckling little calf (because that is what Alaina did most of Tanners game, what a muncher!)

Picture day with the GIRLS

It's weird for me to say girls plural. I am so used to saying the boys and Khloee but now that we have Alaina it's an adjustment for me to hear girls. Kory's mom was insistent that we get some pictures of these girls (which I am glad she is because other wise I probably wouldn't have any.) Unfortunately Lainee was not very fond of pictures and wanted nothing to do with it. Luckily we still got a few good ones out of the adventure. Now I just have decide which of the 20 of Khloee that I am going to have printed. Thankfully, she was EASY!

I know I am biased but I think I have the most BEAUTIFUL girls!!

Alaina

Alaina has been part of our family for 3 weeks now and I am just getting around to posting some pictures of her (pathetic, I know) but I have a hard time putting her down. She is so fun to snuggle with. We can't get enough of her around here!!
