Khloee's Halloween dance recital

Khloee has been taking dance from Martha Gubler for the last couple of months. She loves it even if she has her Dad's rythm. (We are just going to blame him because he will take the blame.) She had her first dance recital at Halloween time. She was so fun to watch and she did great for being only 3, I thought. Until her dad leaned over to me and said, "She has the attention span of a nat. Why did they put her right in the front?" I was busy videoing just her so I didn't notice that she wasn't completely keeping up with the other girls. Next time I will hand the camera to Kor and he can put on the blinders and think that his little girl is the best one out there.

Lucky for Khloee she already has her dad wound tightly around around her little finger so there isn't much she can do that he doesn't look at her with stars in his eyes.

(If only we all had that same power.)

So much to blog about

The 2010 Deer hunt was a great success! Kory and I both filled our tags as did most of the hunters that were with us. Khloee and RJ got to experience first hand the gutting of a deer. What 3 and 5 year old don't need that kind of an eduction? RJ couldn't take his eye's off the deer as his dad was gutting it but he kept saying, "Oh I'm gonna to puke"!We enjoyed our time together even if it poured rain the first couple of day's and the kids' clothes and shoes were a big muddy mess.
Luckily Khloee came prepared with her swimming suit for the great weather we were experiencing. The rest of us bundled up in our sweats and blankets and watched Khlo run around in her swim suit. (unfortunately there were no pictures taken of the beauty in her half naked state, although there was plenty of opportunity.)


While we were gone hunting, Luke missed the last games of his flag football season.
He loved his first year of playing football and did a great job for being his first year.

I was more impressed that I got a picture of it than I was of the actual interception. But good job anyway Luke!

After the season was over he informed me that he would be paying his way through college by playing football. Thank goodness, I can stop putting money in his college fund. . . wait, I never started his college fund. Even better, one less thing that I start and fail miserably at! Awesome, THANK YOU LUKE!!

I didn't want to let this day go by without writing a few thought and feelings, about this day. Today marks 1 year since our little Danny was born. I was looking back out my blogs from a year ago and there was not a single mention of him or of being pregnant. And even though I felt that my feelings were too private to written in a blog post, I still feel guilty that there is absolutely no mention of him anywhere. (Thank goodness I write in my journal occasionally.) Anyway, today has been a special day for me to just be grateful for the time that Kory and I got to spend with him. He wasn't born alive and he was only developed 20 weeks but he was perfect and all of his parts were there, just not completely developed. His little eye lids were still fused shut and his skin was translucent but he was a complete baby. I can't help but be so thankful for the nurses that were there(Kory's mom included) that treated him like a real live baby and let me treat him just like I treated my other newborns. They weighed him, measured him and dressed him and then they let me hold him and sleep with him and keep him as long as I wanted. Even though we were heartbroken over him, I am SO SO thankful for the time I got to be with him.

And now here we are 1 year later and we are thankful to be expecting another baby! I love my pregnancies starting at about month 5 so until then you may hear a lot of whining and complaining from me. I'm sure Kory wont mind if I spread that around so it's not just him that is listening to me cry about how sick and tired I am of feeling sick and tired.
Anyway, we are excited to add another body to this chaos and thankful for the things that we have experienced and shared in this last year.

RJ graduates (with honors)

After 2 yrs. at SUU Headstart, RJ is finished and on his way to kindergarten. YIPES!! HE has changed so much in these 2 years. Many thanks to his very patient teachers, Miss. Taura and Miss. Melissa! On Monday night they had a little end of year program to show their parents a few things they had learned. RJ is such a goof ball it is hard to get a "normal" picture of him.


Here is one song that they performed for us. It was funny to think of the difference in him from last year. Last year he just kind of stood there and sang a few words.

Way to go RJ. Onward and upward!!

All in a day's work

Monday morning Misti called me and said she wanted to get some sand for a sand box for the kids. Kory told us we could go out to Sand Hallow and get the dirt off the side of the road where it always blow across the road. (It would save him some time later so he didn't have to do it for the city). So we loaded up our shovels and some sand toys for the kids and headed out to Sand Hallow. Lucky for us when we got out there, was a big loader moving the dirt into dump trucks and being hauled off. Misti asked if we could shovel some of the dirt into the sandbox she had in the back of her truck. He said we could have some dirt and told us to back the truck up and he would just dump it in. AWESOME!!!

We were so excited about our dirt and the little amount of labor it took, we quickly drove home and jumped in Kory's truck and drove back out there to get another load.

Our men were impressed with our abilities before they knew it was a tractor that did all the hard work. We did still have to unload all that sand from the back of the truck.

Misti now has a sweet sandbox and sand under her swing set. She also has awesome sand all over the sidewalks, thrown at her bedroom window, in her couch from the kids' pockets and all over her floors.

Yep, all in a day's work!Check out the back tires on the truck. I think it was about as heavy a load as it could handle

Utah Summer Games (offical) Commercial

Last summer a girl called me and Misti to be a part of this commercial for summer games. We laughed about it but agreed to do it. We had to go to Zion to do it and then when we got there, we had to pretend like we were playing a real game with these gold medals dangling around our necks and we were spaced about 4 feet apart. So we were playing real close together and then my medal kept hitting me in the head. We thought they were going to add some computer generated images to put a net in the picture and make it look real. But NO, we are just playing pepper in the park. The least they could have done is enhance that hit and make it look like I could jump. I mean come on people, use your skills. (Cuz I don't have any).

"7" Luke "7"

Dear Luke,

I want to say I can't believe your 7, but I actually CAN believe you're 7. You act so grown up and are such a big help to me. Of course you still have your moments when you act your age which are important because if you grow up that means your mom has to too.

Since the day you were born, you have been an easy going kid. I remember that when your dad blessed you in church, he blessed you to be a peacemaker in our home and I think of that often because you are such a great peacemaker. You are sensitive to others feelings around you and are not afraid to stop and help a friend that needs help.

This past year when I was pregnant with Danny is when I saw you change the most. You stepped up and helped with Khloee, often without me having to ask. You were so sweet and patient with her and I loved hearing your voice in the other room trying to keep her happy and getting her whatever was making her upset. I loved when you would draw me pictures to hang by my bed so I would have something nice to look at as I lay there.

You are such a good example for RJ and he will always be looking at his older brothers and follow your and Tanner's lead. He needs your example and your friendship.

You are very responsible with your school work and your teacher's have loved having you in their class because you are a great worker and do what you are supposed to do.

You have yet to lose your top front teeth. One is loose and I hope by the end of the week it is out (or I may just have to pull it while you sleep cuz it is buggin' me). Your favorite color is green right now and you want to be a police officer when you grow up. Your eye's are my favorite thing because they are so dark brown and they tell me everything about how feel with just one glance.

Luke, you are amazing to me and you make my job as a mom so easy! I hope year 7 is just as great as year 6.
