Happy Birthday Kandice

WOW! mom and dad you must feel old because your baby is 27 today!

I would just like to share a few of my favorite memories of Kandice on this her special day! The memories that bring a smile to my face are
1. her famous bum drops
2. Tongue Scratches
3. The most amazing blue dart I have ever seen!
4. Her fashion show Question, "How do you feel about child abuse"?
5. The ever infamous "have some fun times"
6. Her spooky rendition of "How great Thou Art" on the piano.
I know there are many more but those are a few of my favorites and the ones that seem to live on in my memory.
Kan, you are such a fun sister and I am so glad to have you as my friend. You are such a great mom and I don't know what I would do without you and your fantastic hair doing skills. Here's to another year of great memories and all new piano sonatas.
Happy Birthday! Have some fun times!
(that just never gets old).

Sign me up for the PGA!

Friday was Kory and my 10 Year anniversary. A big milestone, I know. We had other things going on Friday so we weren't able to go out just the two of us so on Saturday morning we decided to go golfing. I have only golfed once in my life and that was way back in high school so I was excited to try it again. It was so much fun. The weather was perfect, our golf cart was speedy, the scenery was incredible and I must say even though it has been a few years since playing I must say I was amazingly. . . bad! I was able to pull off a few Tiger Woods characteristics though like slamming my club on the ground after a bad hit or celebrating after a great drive. Unfortunately, my great drive was that I hit the ball solid and it stayed on the fairway. The bad part was that it was not on the fairway that it was supposed to be on, it was the neighboring holes fairway. I am sure Kory felt like he was golfing with Curious George instead of Tiger Woods but he swallowed his pride and let me be seen with him anyway. I didn't ever get a hole in one but I did hit a bunny. I didn't even know it was there until I was watching where my ball landed and this "rock" jumps in the air. Luckily my ball was pretty much stopped when it hit it so it didn't get hurt. Just points for me for boppin' the bunny.

Kory has this drive like I have never seen before. I am talking Happy Gilmore, clear in the heck out there. The ball is in the air forever and ever, it just doesn't fly strait. So to put it mildly, we were chasing ball's out in Timbuktu. It was a blast though and it makes me want to go again soon so I can feel like there might be some hope of the PGA soon. (OK, not really)

A weekend away

We finally took the chance to escape to the mountain for a day together as a family. Kory's family has a cabin on east Zion and so Sunday after church we loaded up and headed out. It was so nice and relaxing. The kids loved it because they could play in the dirt and be outside without having to make sure their rooms

were clean or their other jobs around the house were taken care of.
We rode the four wheeler a little bit but we only have one and you should have seen all six of us
on one four wheeler. kory thinks it is time to get another one but the problem is that Tanner would take complete ownership and think that it belonged to him. The boy's love the four wheeler and I decided it would be a great way to get RJ dressed in the morning. He hears that thing fire up and he is a man on a mission. He gets his clothes and shoes and socks on faster than I have ever seen him and he is out the door. And to think I have been battling with him to do it by himself when all I needed to do was step into the garage and push a button on the four wheeler. Go figure. On our way home Monday, we stopped at the tiny little farm there on the Ponderosa and let the kids see the animals. It was a nice weekend and we can't wait to go back!

Alaska

These are some highlights from Kory's trip to Alaska. The Scenery, the company,
and the big fish that they caught. This is not a picture of Kory (obviously) but he did hook a halibut that was just as big. His dad has the picture so I used this one of Lance to demonstrate my point of really big fish.
They sounded like they had a fun trip but he was so excited to see the kids when he got home and they were just as excited to see him.

I'm a Survivor

Besides feeling outnumbered 8 hands to 2, I think we are handling the father figure being gone pretty well. Kory has been in Alaska since Thursday and the kids and I have been dealing alright with one another. There has been a few moments of complete hearing loss on their part but other than that I can't think of anything awful that has happened. We have been having a pretty good time together. Thursday was busy with T-ball games and futsal games, Friday we tried out the new water park that is in Hidden Valley. The kids had fun on the new playground and getting a tiny bit wet. Then we raced back home to get Tanner to a baseball game that he did really well at. After baseball we had an outdoor movie night. I moved the TV outside and the boy's watched Ratatouille. We invited a couple of the neighbor girls over and popped popcorn. They loved it and it was a great night to sleep out under the stars. Liz Kapcsos came over to check on the girls and we ended up staying up and talking till way after the kids had gone to sleep. It was fun to just sit outside and talk without the kids interrupting. Saturday I was lucky enough to have Kandice and Stefanie (my sis. and sis.-in-law) take my kids so that Pearl (my mother-in-law), Macail (Tyler's girlfriend) and I could have a little girls afternoon out. We went to Olive Garden for lunch and then went and did a little shopping so I could spend some of my Birthday money. Saturday night we had another outdoor movie night (because we had so much fun with it on Friday).
Today we went to church. Church is tricky when Kory is here so I knew it was going to take a little magic to pull off church by myself. I was playing a complete Zone defense, 1 on 4, and feeling quite athletic with my behind the back passes and long ball steels, until a pass got through my quick hands. The ball (RJ's sock) went sailing to the row in front of us and ricochets off of the head of some nice sister for the game turning three point bucket. From there, it was all down hill. Final score: Lets just say the wright kids won by a sufficient amount for me to be more grateful for my teammate to return to the game.
I can't complain too much, at least there was no fire drill at church today. Whew. I will just echo Luke's words,
"I wish dad would have taken me to Alaska with him because I miss him too much." Amen Luke!

Happy Birthday Misti

Happy 29Th Birthday Misti! only one year left before you enter the "30 and over" club! I used to love Misti's birthday when I was younger because I knew mine was just around the corner. Ya, not so much anymore. Here are some GREAT photos I have taken of Misti recently. (She is very photogenic)

I am so glad that I have her and Kandice that live so close to me. It is so fun to have my sisters and my best friends live in the same area. And Misti will be living even closer soon! Yea. Now if I could figure out how to get the other two sisters to move closer, it could be "girls weekend" every weekend!!

Anyway, Happy Birthday Misti! Thanks for the many way's that you help me on a daily basis. All of us Wright's love you!

Here are a couple of pictures of her two cute boy's because we love them too . . . and Porter loves his Aunt Tiff and Payton loves his Aunt Tiff's kitty's.

Payton's happy face! What a crack up, even if he is "part of another family" (little inside joke).
